Who are we?
My name is Steve Zamzo and I have been working at DLMS since 2002 teaching 6th grade. I have worked both as a Sonic and as a Globetrotter and now as a member of Team Red.
Along with teaching I also coach. This fall I am working with the Freshman Football team, and watching my son play football. In the Winter season I am the Girls Gymnastics Head Coach.
I have earned degrees from Concordia University, St. Paul, MN and Lesley University, Cambridge, MA. Of course my learning never stops. I am continually working toward learning how to become a better teacher, coach, husband, father, friend and person. I expect that of my students also.
My hobbies, when I am not coaching something, include living the lake life, being at the cabin with family and friends, reading, gardening, hunting, fishing, being in the kitchen, loom knitting, listening to a variety of podcasts, cheering for what ever sport my son is in at the time, just to name a few.
I look forward to working with you, both students and parents.
My name is Tucker Bergmann and I have been working at DLMS since 2015. I have taught 7th grade, Title I Math grades 1-4 and 5th grade math also before moving to 6th grade on the White team! Along with teaching, I also coach. I am the Boys Basketball Assistant Head Coach. I have also coached 7th and 8th grade baseball in that past as well.
I have earned degrees from North Dakota State University and Valley City State University. Currently, I am pursuing a Masters degree through Minnesota State University - Moorhead.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, my wife Marie, my son Calvin and our dog Odin. My hobbies include fishing, hunting, hiking and anything sports related. I basically look for any reason to be outside!
I look forward to meeting you and having an awesome year in 6th grade!

My name is Zach Biggar and I have been working at DLMS since 2015. I have been a member of the Blue Team since last year. Go Team Blue!
Sports have always been a big part of my life and it hasn't changed since I arrived here in Detroit Lakes. I coach both tennis teams during the year, girls in the fall and boys in the spring. Everyone knows that they can always find tennis rackets and tennis balls in my classroom.
I earned my degree in Elementary education with a 5-8 Mathematics Endorsement from Concordia College, Moorhead where I also enjoyed my time playing tennis, singing in choir, and enjoying the on-campus activities.
When I am not in the classroom or at the tennis courts, I usually am finding any excuse to go fishing or being outside in general. Some other hobbies I have are disc golfing (frolfing), cooking, having bonfires, and enjoying my time with friends.
I look forward to meeting you and having a blast in 6th grade!
