Looking for a gift idea? Recently a few students have been bringing in the old favorite Rubik's Cube. It has been interesting to see students interact with each other with this mathematical problem solving device. There are other types of puzzles like this. Why not give them a try also.

Things you will need for 6th grade math:
Pencils, pencils and more pencils.
A 3-Ring binder. (Somewhere between a 1 1/2 inches and 2 inches will be just fine.)
Loose leaf paper to put in the binder.
Dividers for the binder.
Folder for homework.
