We have seen student participation decline the last few weeks. They weather has become nicer, but not that nice. Temperatures dropping into the high 20's to the low 30's with daytime temps being in the mid 50's. The wind has been blowing regularly making it cold even though the sun is warm.
It is great to hear from our regulars. Those kids who really like school or their parents are holding them accountable. Thanks everyone. Those that struggle a little have fallen away. I can see that online learning will be good for some. Others need that teacher interaction. They are working on prioritizing what needs to be done, and figuring out how to do the task when they don't feel they have enough information. I wonder how we can tie both of these styles in to student learning when we are able to get back into the buildings?
Next week is our last week. I will send out some surveys to see what went well, what we could improve on and what the 6th graders would like to see next year. We would have done that along with cleaning up the room and supplies, getting ready for the end of the year. There is a random drawing for those that respond. I'm looking forward to getting that information.
Hopefully there is life learning happening during this time. I know one student is working construction. What an awesome skill and opportunity. What else is going on with our students?
